Michigan Resident Begs to Save Dogs Life

Sadly, a Michigan dog owner is having to plead with the public for support to prevent her dog from being killed after biting a police officer. In May, police went to the home of Kristine Vanderberg after a neighbor in Bay City, Michigan, complained about a previous dispute. The officer knocked on Vanderberg's door, and there was no answer. So, the officer walked to the back of the home where Sarge, the dog, was in the backyard. Defending the home, Sarge bit the officer while Vanderberg was inside taking a nap. After the bite, the officer shot the dog with a stun dog. Then, Sarge was taken in by Bay County Animal Control. Since then, Vanderberg has been fighting to save her best friend's life. Vanderberg said "I'm trying to be optimistic. I'm thinking things are going to start moving in the right direction." In addition, Vanderberg has received support from people all over, including Facebook pages, petitions and online fundraisers to help support Sarge.
