Man Leaps To Safety On Hood Of Police Car Following Attack, Police Officer Does The Same (Photo)

An Oklahoma man and a police officer tried to escape vicious dogs by jumping on the police car. The officer tried to keep the dogs focused on him until animal control arrived.

Deputy Barrett Storm of Canadian County spotted Ray Dyer running backward in the streets. Dyer was using his jacket to try and keep away two dogs that were pursuing him.

Storm stopped his patrol car and got out. The two jumped on the hood of the car in order to avoid the snarling jaws of the dogs below.

The dogs, described as 'pit bulls,' got loose from their home and began to chase Dyer. When the two dogs would begin to wander, Storm would bang his baton on the car to get their attention and draw them back. He managed to keep them in place until animal control arrived.

No one was bit, but the dog owner was cited for letting the dogs run loose.
