Woman's Selfie In Stolen Dress Leads Police Right To Her (Video)

A woman from West Frankfort, IL couldn’t wait to share some images of herself decked out in her new dress, and she would proudly share the photos on Facebook. According to the Daily Mail, those photos would capture the attention of a local shop owner that just had the very same dress stolen from the establishment.

Danielle Saxton, 27, posted several pics of herself in the distinctive looking leopard print dress. Coincidentally, Kert Williams, the co-owner of Mortie’s Boutique, had also posted on Facebook about a theft from his store that involved a dress that matched that description. Facebook users put two and two together and alerted Williams, who would proceed to contact police.

He explained that he had security footage of the woman leaving with the dress and other items, and decided to put it out there to request the public’s assistance. Police would arrest Saxton, who is pregnant, at her home, and she didn’t offer up much of an explanation.

“Her excuse was there was nobody in here. We were in the back working, and that she could just take it. You know, not really much of an excuse there,” Williams explains.
