Woman Who Killed Joran Van Der Sloot's Best Friend Confirms That He Killed Natalee Holloway

A young woman on Dr. Phil spilled about the questionable crowd with whom she used to hang out. The young woman says she knows for certain who killed a young teen who was in Aruba on a class graduation tip.

To this day, no one has been convicted of the teen's murder, and her remains have never been recovered.

Emily Heistand tells the talk show host that she began dating John Ludwick about two to three months after the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. The 17-year-old high school senior was last seen leaving a club in Aruba with Joran Van Der Sloot and friends late that night in May of 2005.

She was never seen again.

Holloway's disappearance was a high profile case that remained in the headlines on and off for years. Hundreds of volunteers searched for the girl and there was an extensive search that included FBI agents from America and Dutch soldiers with F-16 Dutch military air craft. A body was never recovered, and the investigation is still open.

Ludwick was Van Der Sloot's best friend, and Van Der Sloot was a prime suspect in Holloway's disappearance. He was one of multiple suspects arrested, but authorities were never able to gather enough evidence to hold him or officially charge him.

The 23-year-old Heistand says that her then boyfriend told her that Van Der Sloot was indeed involved in the murder of Holloway. He also says that Van Der Sloot's father was involved with disposing of the body.

"He told me that Joran did do it, and hid the body," Heistand told Dr. Phil. "John told me that Joran got this Natalee girl all drunk at a bar and Joran took her to the beach and they were having a good time and she started seizuring and foaming at the mouth."

"Joran called his dad and helped him dispose of the body," she added.

She explains that Ludwick then went to get the hidden body after the case gained enormous attention and burned it to make sure the remains were never found.

Heistand says that when Ludwick told her that, she ended the relationship with him because she was 'creeped out'. Ludwick didn't take the break-up well, however, and attempted to kidnap Heistand out of driveway, and the confrontation turned deadly-- for Ludwick.

"He was waiting at my house," Heistand explained. "I just pulled into my house, took my keys out of the ignition, put them in my pocket and I was texting my boyfriend, 'Have a good day at work. I love you.'"

Then she saw Ludwick jump out and rush toward her. "I saw him and immediately I knew, 'oh god, that's John.' He got on top of me, I was screaming, he had a knife to my throat. He was shoving something into my mouth and I can't talk and he was able to shove me into the passenger seat," she recalls.

Ludwick demanded the keys from Heistand, threatening to slit her throat open. She grabbed the knife and swung it back at him. Ludwick was killed in the scuffle and the killing was declared self-defense.

Van Der Sloot was never tried or convicted for Holloway’s death, but he was convicted for the murder of Stephany Flores Ramírez in 2010 and is serving a 28-year sentence. He was caught on hidden camera admitting to an undercover reporter that he did kill Holloway, and he bragged about how the police messed up the investigation.
