Woman Waits For Mother To Walk Away, Slips Boy This Unbelievable Note

Have you ever had one of those days when everything seems to be going wrong? It's terrible when you feel trapped by circumstances and don't know what you're going to do. The pressure can make it hard to breathe. Imagine if a complete stranger swooped in and made things better, allowing you to take a deep breath and relax. That's what happened to one Alabama woman when a stranger slipped an envelope to her son.

Melissa Simms was down to her last dollar. The Pell City mom had a series of major surgeries over the last couple of years, and she was still recovering. The family had been struggling to make ends meet, and they were having a really bad day.

"Me and my husband woke up and split out last ten dollars for gas, for him to go to work and for me to make it to my doctor's appointment," Simms explained to WBRC.com. "All day I was stressed about how am I going to make supper for my kids."

With those worries on her head, things just kept going downhill. Her son, Trey, was sick and had to stay home from school that day. She brought him with her for her doctor's appointment. When she got there, she didn't have enough for her co-payment.

She discussed the problem with the doctor's staff, and managed to go in and see the doctor. She was relieved-- at least something worked out. Little did she know, her day was only beginning to turn around.

Trey waited for his mom in the waiting room of the doctor's office. While Simms was in getting her examination, a complete stranger walked over to Trey and handed him an envelope. The woman told him it was for his mom. When Simms came out, he handed it over.

Simms was confused by the envelope. Trey told his mom the lady handed it to him and left. Simms opened it and was shocked to find a note and a $100 bill.

"I've had days like you're having today,” the note read. “Hang in there."

The note included the Bible verse Joshua 1:9; "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

Simms began to cry right there. "It is a complete feeling of peace, just like everything is going to be OK," she said to WBRC.

"If I would have known what it was, I would have told her thank you," Trey added.

Simms hopes that someday she'll be able to repay the mysterious stranger back.
