Woman Shares Nightmare Experience From When She Had To Deal With Cable Company

Anyone that has ever had the pleasure of dealing with the cable company knows that it can be far from a pleasant experience. While service issues are another matter entirely, matters of billing or general customer service can be a flat out pain in the neck. As the Independent Journal Review shares, that’s what Megan Scott has been dealing with for some time, and it was for service she didn’t even want.

As Scott explains it, she received a solicitation call from a Comcast offering her additional services. She politely declined, as she was only interested in internet services. Nonetheless, some new cable boxes miraculously turned up at her house. Scott returned them to the local Comcast, but her nightmare was just beginning.

“I realized Comcast was charging both addresses for service and my bill was more than DOUBLE the usual cost. Four months of service had been charged to my card for our home in Ann Arbor, as well as four months of service in the old place in Dexter,” she recalls.

Scott wound up with a confusing web of fees that was pretty tough to reconcile, and it took her and the reps a while to get to the bottom of it. All the while, she was being charged - and the fees kept adding up.

“When I tried to correct the situation, customer service agents told me that even though they were charged a fine for illegal charges I would still have to pay for the bill I was wrongfully sent,” Scott continued.

Scott has finally made some headway on her long-running problem, but it was far more than she should’ve had to deal with. For Comcast’s part, they assured everyone that all is well.

“We take every customer concern seriously. After investigating this inquiry, we determined that we had corrected and reimbursed a billing error earlier this year and found no other erroneous charges. We're working with the customer to clear up any outstanding charges,” a statement read in part.
