Woman Prostitutes Teen Daughters To Support Crack Habit

Teresa Vanover, a 52-year-old resident of Eden, North Carolina, had fallen on some hard times and needed money to help pay for her ill husband’s medical bills. According to OpposingViews, Teresa’s method of raising the funds falls on the disturbing side.

To raise money, Teresa took it upon herself to prostitute out her mentally disabled teenage daughters. The girls, ages 15 and 13, were forced to engage in sexual acts with various men, some of which involved the mother as well. In addition to paying her husband’s medical bills, Teresa apparently had a wicked crack cocaine habit that needed supporting as well.

The 15-year-old was finally able to alert police to what was going on this past September, a few months after the father had passed away and the need for assistance with his medical bills was gone. Teresa was charged on numerous offenses, and is set to be behind bars for a long time.

“This is one of the most disturbing cases factually I’ve heard in my 10 years on the bench,” said Wilkes County Superior Court judge Mike Duncan.
