Woman Gets This Bill From ATM - Then Immediately Wants Explanation From Bank

When a woman from Seattle named Darcy Fox took out $300 from the ATM she noticed something odd about one of the twenty dollar bills. The bill was obviously fake. Fox was stunned that the bank would let such an obviously fake bill through to be distributed to customers.

On this bill, Andrew Jackson’s face was distorted on one side of the bill, and instead of saying “United States of America” on the other side, it said “Motion Picture Use Only.”

Fox went right into the bank to show them the fake money, and they replaced the bill.

Moreover, Bank of America also assured Fox that this was an isolated incident and that there are safeguards in place designed to prevent this. The bank said it also plans to report the incident to Secret Service.

Fox said she feels she had a real learning experience, and she is encouraging ATM users to be careful about checking their cash as soon as they withdraw it.

“I mean, this is blatantly fake money. The bank isn’t supposed to miss these things,” Fox noted.

Fox is actually lucky the bank replaced her money right away and that it was so obviously counterfeit. A man named William Hagman withdrew $2,500 in cash from TD Bank back in 2012. He took the cash to a Bank of America in order to deposit it in a different account. However, the teller at the Bank of America noticed that one of his one hundred dollar bills was counterfeit, and Hagman immediately took the bill back to TD Bank. The bank acknowledged the error but refused to replace his bill with a legit one as he had already left the premises.

Keep in mind that banks are not legally required to replace money after the customer has left the building, meaning it is very important to check all cash as soon as you get it.
