Woman Furious By What She Found On Receipt (Photos)

The ease of transacting business in our ever-connected world can sometimes lead to errors on our bank statements and credit card bills, and it’s good practice to stay mindful of what’s hitting your accounts. According to WSLS, this diligent woman from Salem, VA would find that she was awfully generous to the server during a recent restaurant visit.

Whitney Anderson’s family had dined at a restaurant known as Abuelo’s. The meal itself was uneventful enough, but she noticed things weren’t adding up on her bank account the next day. While she clearly recalled leaving a $10 tip on their bill for $45.50, that amount had doubled to $20.

She would head back down to the restaurant and ask to see the receipt. Sure enough, the receipt that the restaurant had showed a completely different amount. To make matters worse, her signature had been forged.

“It was almost a 25% tip and then they go behind you and fraudulently sign a name to a credit card receipt. I don’t feel that’s any different than someone taking your debit card,” she said.

The restaurant continues to investigate the matter, but they have gone ahead and refunded the entire value of her check.
