Woman Furious After Being Kicked Out Of YMCA Locker Room - You Won't Believe Why

A new mom in Oklahoma City claims she was told to leave a YMCA women’s locker room for breastfeeding her baby. Moreover, she says the locker room she was escorted to was dirty and did not even have a comfortable place for her to sit while nursing.

Tiffany Hoag’s baby, her first, is barely 8-weeks-old. This was her first public nursing experience, and now the new mom is worried about breastfeeding in public again.

"I was really embarrassed and upset because people were looking, and he was crying because he was still hungry," Hoag explained.

The incident occurred at 4:15 PM, at the Earlywine YMCA.

"I went to the women's locker room and changed him, then he started to get a little bit fussy, so I started to nurse him," Hoag noted. She also pointed out another mother was nursing her baby as well.

Then a YMCA staff member came into the women’s locker room.

According to Hoag, "The next thing you know, she's escorting this lady out of the locker room, and then she comes back for me and says 'you can't be in here, I'm going to have to ask you to leave.'"

The staff escorted her to a family locker room, but it was in poor condition.

"It's dirty, towels on the floor... it's a toilet, a shower, a seat and a sink," Hoag highlighted.

The YMCA said they are investigating offered the upset new mom an apology:

“We are truly sorry if there was a negative experience. We have moms breastfeed in all areas of our 12 metro locations on a daily basis, including the lobby and the pool areas, and have never had any issues."
