Woman Distraught By Identity Of Her New Neighbor

21-year-old Danyelle Dyer of Oklahoma lived through an absolute nightmare as a child. She was sexually molested when she was just 7 years old by her own uncle, but he was thankfully caught and locked up for his depraved actions. As the Independent Journal Review shares, the nightmare is back, as the man has been released from prison - and he’s moved in right next door.

The sex offender, Harold English, has been released from prison, and he’s moved in with his mother. His mother just happens to be her grandmother, who lives just over the fence from her parents. Dyer has taken to Facebook to share the tale, and she’s hoping someone can point her in the right direction for legal advice.

“Warning! You never know who is living next door to you. I urge you to use the oklahoma sex offender registry to see who's in your area. Victims have to live with it for the rest of their life while the abuser gets to live almost anywhere they want including next door to their victim."

"Meet my abuser and my new neighbor,” she wrote. “He has been asked to leave but in Oklahoma he can legally reside there. Surely Oklahoma can do better than this. My parents and I are out to change Oklahoma law because surely he can find somewhere else to live.”

There’s no law on the books in Oklahoma that prevents abusers from living next to their victims, but Dyer is hoping to see that changed.

“If anyone has advice on how I can legal get him to move please let me know! My hope is to bring awareness that this information is public record and you should use it for your safety,” she continued. “And also make it aware that there is obvious flaws in Oklahoma Law regarding victim safety and well being. I wish to save other women and children from the pain that this man has put me through and is continuing to put my family through by living next door to my parents.”

Her parents are equally outraged, and they’re frustrated that their hands are tied here.

“When you have to see it, I can only imagine what it does to my daughter when she’s there and she has to witness it,” noted Laurina Dyer. “She shouldn’t have to. Very heartbreaking.”

“Not only is my daughter feeling her past come back to haunt her, but a lot of years of rage and anger that I’ve kept under my collar is sitting right outside my door,” added Greg Dyer. “She’s had to bring her deepest, darkest secrets out for the public to view just to try to rid this person of her life.”

For Dyer, the painful memories that are being dredged up are outweighed by her desire to see some changes. That’s why she’s speaking out, and it sounds like she won’t be resting until she gets some answers.

“It’s very empowering for me because I feel like I’m making a difference and I didn’t share my story for nothing and that it is bringing about positive change,” Danyelle said. “Whether it helps one woman and I can help one woman then I’m completely happy with that.”
