Woman Discovers Something Odd About Her 'Boyfriend' And Immediately Takes Legal Action

She had been dating him for two years only to discover that her 'boyfriend' was not who she thought he was. It was, in fact, her female friend. After being tricked the woman filed a complaint.

The unnamed victim thought she was dating a man named Kye Fortune. She got a Facebook friend request from Fortune and the two began talking online and on the phone. Fortune claimed to be a half-Filipino, half-Latino man who was recovering from a brain tumor.

'Fortune' concocted a story, telling the woman that he had been in a terrible accident when the brain tumor was discovered. He said he was embarrassed by his scars. "He was saying how much I had helped him get through his illness. (He said) it was a sign, we should get married, we should have kids, we were going to do all sorts of things," said the victim.

The woman and 'Fortune' made arrangements to meet at a hotel for a sexual encounter, but Fortune convinced her to wear a blindfold throughout the encounter. He told her he was extremely self-conscious about his injuries and scars.

The woman came to the hotel room and found the bed covered with rose petals and Hello Kitty toys. Fortune was in the bathroom and waited there for her to undress and put on a blindfold. Fortune then came in and the two had sex.

Several encounters of the same kind happened before the woman finally removed the blindfold. She was shocked to discover that Fortune was not a man, but a woman and a friend of hers: Gayle Newland. The 25-year-old woman had been playing the role all along, using a prosthetic for their sexual encounters.

"I was sat on the bed, he was standing up. Something in my mind said 'pull it (the blindfold) off, pull it off'. I just pulled it off. Gayle was just standing there... I just couldn't believe it, I couldn't believe it. Straight away she held her hand down over her face and said 'it's not what you think'," said the victim.

Newland is now on trial and a jury is hearing the case.
