Woman Details Disgusting Experience At McDonald's - Son Exited Play Area Covered In Feces

Many parents love fast food restaurants that have enclosed play areas. It can be a great way to pass a hot summer day - the parent can sit back and eat in peace, while the child can run in, play and burn off some energy. Of course, there are always concerns about the cleanliness of indoor play places, and just about every parent knows to keep a bottle of hand sanitizer around to combat some of the germs. One mom said that for her son, it was much, much worse than that.

Justina Whitmore, a New Hampshire mom, went to the Manchester McDonald's with her five-year-old son, Gabriel. As she ate her meal, Gabriel went into the play area to have some fun, but when he came down the slide he was covered in poop.

Justina was horrified and disgusted. Gabriel explained to her that there was another child in the play tunnels and slide who had a leaky diaper. “It was because he went down the slide first,” Gabriel told Whitmore. “And then I couldn’t help it and it went all over me.”

The horrified mom rushed to the bathroom with her son, only to run into another problem: there was no soap and no paper towels in the bathroom. “I’m sure employees go to the bathroom,” Whitmore said. “There’s no soap. How are they washing their hands?”

When Whitmore went to report the mess, she says the McDonald's crew just laughed and joked about the situation. "I went over to the counter and said, ‘Are you going to give me any paper towels or anything to help clean my son off,’ and they were just laughing and arguing about who should clean it up.”

Whitmore asked them to at least give her paper towels and soap, and she waited with Gabriel, but the workers ignored her. "I was at that point just using my bare hands and fortunate one of his socks did not have poop on it so I was just using his left sock to scrape it off his skin."

The mom took her son to the emergency room to be checked. Because he has eczema, she worried about what the poop and the poor cleaning job might do to his skin condition. Gabriel seemed alright to doctors, but now Whitmore is furious with McDonald's, and their poor handling of the situation.

"While I was at the counter all the employees were laughing and arguing about who should clean up the play area," she said. She's demanding an apology.

The manager of the Manchester McDonald's responded with the comment, "The safety and well-being of our customers are our top priorities. We are investigating the situation and will take any appropriate measures to address it."

Corporate offices have not yet weighed in on the incident.

It’s doubtful that Whitmore, or her son, will be craving a happy meal anytime soon, though.
