Woman Causes Police Chase After Stealing Ambulance

A woman, who has not yet been named, reportedly stole an ambulance from Station 17 of the Houston, Texas Fire Department on Wednesday night.

Police were able to track down the missing vehicle using a GPS tracker. When taken into custody, the woman told police that she was being abused by her boyfriend and needed to get away. Yet, she refused to pull over several times until finally stopping on Smith at Congress.

In addition, she told authorities that the ambulance was the closest vehicle she could find. The woman has been charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and felony evading.
