Wife Discovers Husband Is An Abominable Human Being - The Authorities Take It From There

For the unfortunate ones out there that have, it’s not easy coming to terms with the fact that you settled down with a real creep. While counseling, separation, divorce, and even burying your head in the sand are options to help deal with that problem, sometimes the creepiness is just beyond imagination. That’s the situation this woman from Menlo Park, California found herself in, but she didn’t hesitate to take care of it. As SF Gate shares, her 47-year-old husband was met by the authorities at San Francisco International Airport, and he was promptly arrested.

The woman discovered that her husband, Matthew Coda, was in possession of child pornography. As you can imagine, she was all kinds of floored, repulsed, frightened, angry and dozens of other adjectives, but she kept her wits about her and contacted the authorities. Detective Sal Zuno of the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office provides some more details on how things unfolded.

“The suspect’s wife contacted us and was able to provide us with information that her husband was in possession of child pornography,” Zuno explained. “The investigation continued for several months, and with her help we were able to get evidence and images.”

Coda’s computer was eventually seized, and investigators would discover that he had roughly 3,000 images of child pornography on it. From that point, the sheriff’s office would obtain a warrant and provide Coda with a rude awakening.

“He was going to be flying in on a domestic flight and was going to be landing in San Francisco, so detectives met him at the airport,” Zuno added.

Coda was approached and arrested without incident. He was booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility in Redwood City, and he’s being held on $200,000 bail. Investigators are now asking for the public’s help and encouraging anyone else that may have information that can be of use in the investigation to come forward.

The suspect’s wife’s name has not been released as of yet, and we’ll have to wait and see what else the investigation turns up. As of now, the woman deserves tremendous kudos for not hesitating to act when she came across such unconscionable things. We can only speculate as to her state of mind at the time of discovery, but it wouldn’t be all that surprising if feelings of nausea came into play as well.

In general, it’s not easy to admit that you’ve made a mistake in the love department. However, it can actually save you a ton of angst if you just move on when you become involved with a broken person that just can’t be fixed. Of course, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give it your all, but some situations are just so out of hand - like this one, for example - that running for the hills as soon as possible is the best course of action. While it would be lovely to assume that love can conquer all, the reality is vastly different.
