Want To Stay At This Haunted Hotel? You'll Have To Sign A Waiver First

One hotel is thought to be so haunted that you can't spend the night there without being willing to sign a waiver. You'd be surprised how many people are willing to sign a waiver just so they can get a good scare.

The Hotel Shanley in the Shawangunk Mountains of New York State features picturesque views and charming accommodations. The 1895 building also has enough paranormal activity to scare you to death.

The Shanley has seen more than its share of tragedies. The original owner lost three infant children. An on-site barber lost his daughter when she fell into a well. A number of other accidents and deaths, some due to murder, have occurred at the hotel over the last century. Its history reads like something out of a Stephen King novel.

Guests have reported 'feeling lightheaded, shortness of breath, heaviness and feelings of joy/sadness' in some parts of the hotel. Paranormal investigators have had a field day gathering evidence such as ghostly orb photos and paranormal EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena). Because of this, the Shanley has become very popular with paranormal enthusiasts. It's often booked well in advance by people hoping to have an encounter with something from beyond the grave.

There is a catch: you do have to sign a waiver. Guests must be 16 or over, you're not allowed to bring alcohol, and no Ouija boards are allowed anywhere on the property.

If an overnight is not your thing (since you probably won't get much sleep there anyway), you can book a 'special investigation' from 8 p.m. until 1 a.m.
