Wait Until You See What Happens When This Boss Has A Splinter Removed From His Foot

A video of a man removing a splinter from someone else’s foot is going viral for all the wrong reasons. When Todd, the boss of a small company, got sick of a splinter in his foot, he asked one of his workers if they would be able to remove it with some heavy-duty wire snips.

However, when the unnamed worker began removing the splinter, he was completely shocked by what came out.

The incident was videoed by another of Todd’s employees, Kaitlin Blatt, and was later posted to the popular sharing and aggregation website Reddit.

The 48-second video was initially uploaded to Reddit under the title ‘Todd’s Got a Splinter’ and accompanied by the description: “My boss, Todd, got a splinter at work…it was massive.”

Ms. Blatt’s video shows Todd grimacing as his employee slowly pulls the splinter out. However, as the helper pulls out what he originally thought was a simple splinter, it soon becomes clear that this ‘splinter’ has more in common with a wooden spike.

At last, Todd’s employee is able to fully remove the splinter, yelping as a thick 2-inch long piece of wood is removed from Todd’s foot. The crowd of employees around Todd can all be heard “oohhhing’ and “ahhhing” as the size of the splinter is shown.

According to Mad World News, the chunk of wood first became lodged in Todd’s foot when the company boss – who was wearing flip flops at the time – dropped a wooden box. As the box smashed, one of the shards of wood lodged deep into Todd’s unprotected foot.

The video also shows Todd laughing at the size of the splinter, telling his workers: “That is YouTube.” When the man who removed the splinter positions it next to his foot to show how deep it was, he can be heard saying: “Oh my gosh, that’s how far it was in your foot.”

When Todd’s wife and daughter saw the video, they knew that they had to take him to the hospital to get the wound cleaned and bandaged. Mad World News reports that Todd received a tetanus shot and a thorough clean after the doctor saw how deep the puncture wound was.

The takeaway from Todd’s painful experience is to always wear enclosed footwear when carrying heavy items or using dangerous equipment.

After Ms Blatt posted her video to Reddit, forum users flocked to comment on the outrageous size of the splinter.

One commenter, with the username ‘RedditUser0123456789’ shared their own story of painful puncture wounds, writing: “I ran through a field with a friend and unknowingly ran over a mesquite branch. One of the thorns embedded itself in the back of my calf. When my friend and I stopped running I noticed the throbbing in my leg. Her dad had to use pliers to pull it out. The thorn was about three inches long.”

Another Reddit user described a similar situation to Todd's, commenting: “I had one that size in the bottom of my foot. It went in at an angle and had been an inch longer before it broke off and was lodged in my foot. The doctor told me I had a callous and sent me home claiming the tiny splinter she removed was everything. I had it in my foot for 2 days before a surgeon removed it.”
