Video Shows Huge Pimple On Man's Face Getting Popped-- It Won't Stop Oozing!

People have all different kinds of hobbies. Some people like fly fishing. Some people like scrapbooking. Some people play an instrument. And some people like to go on YouTube and watch pimples getting popped, cysts getting drained and blackheads getting scooped out of clogged pores.

A gross video from Vietnam has been making rounds among lovers of gross skin conditions. The footage shows a man having an enormous pimple popped and drained. The video is stomach-churning, but oddly fascinating to many viewers who just can't seem to look away.

The film was reportedly shot on July 23 when a man went to dermatologist Phan Ho Hoa because of the large pimple on his cheek by his ear. The dermatologist, wearing gloves and using some cotton, squeezes the pimple, and it erupted like Mount St. Helens. Puss shot out in a stream, but there was a lot more beneath the surface.

After the initial bursting, the doctor found a soft spot where fluids were pooling and punctured it. Immediately, a mixture of blood, puss and various fluids began to pour out of the man's face. It's positively revolting, but pimple popping has become something of a spectator sport.

Just ask Dr. Pimple Popper, dermatologist Sandra Lee, who has become a YouTube sensation. The doctor began posting films of her work and has developed a massive following, with each of her videos getting tens of millions of views. Her videos of oozing, leaking, clogging and squirting skin has even landed the doctor her own television show on TLC.

The Dr. Lee's most popular video is a compilation of blackhead extractions. At 45 million views, it is clear that these kinds of disgusting procedures are popular with a huge audience.

In another video, a man has a massive lipoma-- a lump of fat-- under his skin on his shoulder. The doctor performed surgery to remove it.

After cutting the man's skin open with a scalpel, she pulled out a lump of fat about the size of a grapefruit. The patient even got to hold the big, gooey lump after the surgery. It’s unthinkable, it’s revolting, but it is just so darn satisfying.

Lee has speculated on why she thinks that is.

“I think watching popping is similar to seeing a scary movie or riding a roller coaster for some,” said Lee to Refinery29.com. “You get a rush of euphoria and excitement.”

There is actually a psychology behind people's fascination with such icky things. Daniel Kelly, author of 'Yuck!: The Nature and Moral Significance of Disgust', says it's human nature.

“Disgust is a psychological component to this arsenal of protective weaponry,” he explains in an interview with Salon. “Instead of waiting until something gets into our system that we have to fight to push out, disgust helps us to stay away from objects and people that are likely to get us sick.”

Lee even says that some of her patients find her videos useful because it keeps them from scratching, squeezing or picking at their own skin problems. The compulsion to do this can cause skin problems, so experiencing it vicariously through someone else’s video is a great way to get the same rush.
