Vanna White Has Wardrobe Malfunction During 'Wheel Of Fortune' Filming

The term 'wardrobe malfunction' was coined in 2004, after Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson were forced to apologize and explain why her breast had been exposed during their Super Bowl XXXVIII halftime show.

The scandal became known as 'nipple gate' after Timberlake accidentally ripped away not just her leather breastplate (as was planned, they claim), but his co-performer's bra. Even though the term is new, the concept is not. Throughout history, people have experienced some embarrassing wardrobe malfunctions in front of crowds.

Chrissy Teigen experienced an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction at the American Music Awards when she attempted to wear a dress with a ridiculously high slit — all the way up past her waist. Whenever a breeze blew on the red carpet, photographers got an eyeful.

Nicki Minaj didn't seem to blink when she had a double nip-slip in a performance on 'Good Morning America' in 2011.

Danish soccer player had a moment on the field during a game when an opposing team member yanked his shorts down in 2013.

You never known when a wardrobe malfunction is going to strike, and one night it struck on 'Wheel of Fortune'. Poor Vanna White had no idea the whole time what was happening, but everyone got quite a kick out of it.

Lucky for Vanna, this wasn't as bad as it could be. There was no nipple slipping, nor did her dress fly up (or fall down). While she was walking across the stage to present the letters, her long, blue gown got caught on a little red gift box.

As she walked back and forth, she trailed along the box with her, totally clueless.

Later, she finally realizes something isn't right. The way the audience is laughing has her give herself a quick check. She takes a peek behind her and notices the problem.

Vanna had a good attitude about the malfunction. She and her co-host, Pat Sajak, had a good laugh over it. Viewers of the show who just love Vanna got a real kick out of the clip as well.

"So funny I can’t stop laughing. She’s so dignified and sweet. She’s lucky it wasn’t a stream of toilet paper. I’ve seen it happen," said one.

"The show must go on no matter what happens," said another.

"Since the show is taped and edited, why would they show it or let it “leak” out to the internet?" wondered another.

Maybe the little faux pas was just too good not to share with the fans. It’s nice to know that even stars like Vanna White are as human as the rest of us.

"I didn't even feel it," she said.

You really have to hand it to Vanna; she has been on 'Wheel of Fortune' five nights per week for more than 25 years, appearing in a different outfit for every show, and manages to avoid wardrobe malfunctions on a regular basis.

There are some stars that can’t stop having malfunctions with just about everything they wear to award shows, or in concerts.

Then again, malfunctions are a great way to get attention, so it wouldn’t be surprising if a lot of them are tailor made.
