Truth Finally Revealed About Boy Who Was Attacked, Killed By Gators At Disneyland

When Matt Graves’ 2-year-old was pulled into the water outside Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, a second gator tried to attack him as he tried to save his son. Graves refused to leave the area when rescuers searched for the child, even though he was in need of stitches from the alligator’s bite, according to CBS News.

Capt. Tom Wellons said authorities eventually convinced Graves to seek medical attention. It was on their way to the hospital that Graves described the horror that had occurred.

"This incredibly sweet couple insisted on showing us pictures of their happy son. (The) mom kept referring to him as her 'happy boy,'" Wellons said in an email to his supervisor.

The boy’s body was found about 15 yards from the shore and six feet underwater, CBS News reports. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said they caught the alligator that attacked the boy and have trapped six more on Disney’s property since the attack.

The resort did not have signs warning people of alligators or against swimming in the lagoon. After the attack, signs warning against alligators and stakes were put up, in addition to a rope fence around the perimeter of the water. Yahoo News reports that Disney plans to surround the body of water with a rock bed to prevent people from going near the water.

The family said they have decided not to sue Disney.
