Trump's Ethics Lawyer's Wife Arrested After Police Uncover Dark Secret

Ethics is a required course for various academic disciplines, but there’s a school of thought that suggests all students would benefit from some exposure to a course along these lines before entering the real world. Legal mumbo jumbo aside, a clear refresher on what’s right - and what’s wrong - in various situations can do a world of good for those that are ready to go out and tackle the world. While that ultimately falls on things such as upbringing and a student’s personal values, attacking it from multiple angles can’t hurt.

Here’s a situation that probably wouldn’t be covered in class, but that can certainly be used as a glaring example of horrible judgement. In a nutshell, the lesson would teach students that it’s a really bad idea to have sexual relations with someone 30 years younger than you that just so happens to be incarcerated. It’s an even worse choice when you carry on these trysts in your vehicle, and the inmate is later found to be in possession of all sorts of unauthorized goodies. For a final point, you really shouldn’t be doing that if you happen to be married to a prominent attorney.

As the New York Daily News shares, such is the plight that 53-year-old Teresa Burchfield has found herself in, and she has no one to blame but herself. She’s married to Bobby Burchfield, a longtime Republican lawyer that serves as an ethics lawyer for the Trump Organization. Based on the criminal complaint, Teresa was busted outside the Adult Detention Center in Fauquier County, Virginia.

A deputy found her getting busy in the backseat of her vehicle with a 23-year-old inmate. The inmate had been allowed to do work outside of the center, and he’s allegedly been meeting with the woman for about a month. Further investigation revealed that he was in possession of "unauthorized" cigarettes, clothes and over-the-counter vitamins, all of which apparently came from his sugar momma.

Teresa has been charged with misdemeanor unauthorized delivery to a jail. It’s unclear if that charge suggests she would’ve been allowed to get busy with the unidentified inmate if she had asked the higher-ups. The inmate is not expected to be facing any additional charges, but his days of being granted permission to leave the facility are history.

A little digging into Teresa’s background has revealed that she’s the founder of the "Migraine Awareness Group: a National Understanding for Migraines," and the website notes that she has worked with homeland security technology. A job along those lines would normally require some strict clearance protocols, so we’ll take a leap and assume she has at least been exposed to the concept of ethics before.

As for her lawyer husband, we would imagine that he’s less than thrilled to receive such a public slap in the face. While it’s unclear if the couple was having marital troubles or not, there’s no excuse for creeping around behind each other’s backs. In any event, he’s now fully aware that his wife is not well-versed on the concept of ethical behavior.
