Trump Says No to NCAA Bracket, Now Charles Barkley Is On The Offensive (Video)

President Donald Trump is a little busy with that whole ‘Make America Great Again’ thing, but basketball analyst Charles Barkley has a bone to pick with him for not fitting something into his schedule. As the Huffington Post shares, Barkley is incredulous that the commander-in-chief did not submit a bracket for the NCAA basketball tournament as requested.

Former President Barack Obama completed a bracket every year without fail to much fanfare, A noted hoops fan, Obama undoubtedly enjoyed taking a few minutes to think about something he enjoyed before submitting his picks. Last month, ESPN submitted a request for Trump to fill out a bracket in advance of the tournament. The White House “respectfully declined,” but noted that “look forward to working with ESPN on another opportunity in the near future.”

While March Madness, as tournament time has come to be known, is quite a big deal in sports circles and captures a ton of attention from casual observers as well, the reality is that not many are versed enough in college hoops to complete a bracket that amounts to anything more than throwing darts at a board. A glance at the results of an average office pool typically validates that theory, as the resident ‘expert’ is typically left seething while the non-sports fan picks an inordinate amount of winners.

Quite simply, it doesn’t sound like Trump is much of a hoops fan. He’s been noted for following Golf, the NFL and professional boxing in the past, but it frankly doesn’t sound like he has much free time on his plate these days. Trump has also been noted for having a legendary work ethic, and it appears as if he’s carried that over into the Oval Office by working marathon days.

Outside of the bracket, Barkley couldn’t resist putting on the political pundit hat when the topic turned to Trump.

“The Muslim ban is awful,” he opined.
