Traffic Stop Saves Boy's Life

Michigan police officer, Nick Mitchell, pulled over a mother and her 10-year-old son for running a red light.

He soon noticed that her son was gasping for air and something was not right. He asked Rhonda McArthur if her son was okay when she told Officer Mitchell that she was rushing to get her son to the nearest hospital.

Mitchell's presence was more helpful than she expected because it was later discovered that she was only 10 miles away from running out of gas. Mitchell immediately called for an ambulance, but one was not available. So, he decided to take them in his patrol car.

Before that, a firefighter arrived with oxygen for the boy. The firefighter also rode with them to the hospital. Thankfully, they made it in time and the boy is expected to make a full recovery.

McArthur thanked the officer for helping her when she didn't think she needed it.
