Town Takes Extreme Measures To Protect Residents From Refugees

In what seems the exact opposite of the plan by the German government to integrate the millions of refugees entering the country, a city in Germany is constructing a 13ft-high brick wall to separate locals from refugees who will be moving into a migrant housing facility.

Local officials from Neuperlach Sud, close to Munich, noted the idea of a wall was brought up after locals complained about 160 unaccompanied young refugees moving in.

The local residents claimed the values of their houses would drop due to the proximity of the refugee center and the noise relating to it.

Of note, the closest homes to the new migrant shelter are around 25 meters away and are on the other side of a road.

Critics point out the new barrier will stand taller than the historic Berlin Wall when it is complete. After a legal battle, a judge in Munich gave the go-ahead for the construction of the wall.

However, many people in the area are not happy about the idea of a giant wall in their town. Deputy district chairman Guido Bucholtz commented: “This is absolute madness, I was frightened when I saw this monster of a wall. When we talk about integration of refugees, I imagined something different. It just makes me feel bad.”

The wall is scheduled to be finished by next spring.
