Teens Mock Employee's Stutter - Customer Overhears Them, Does The Unthinkable

A television show set up a scenario with a stutterer in an ice cream shop to see if people would stand up to bullying. Customers did not disappoint.

In an episode of 'What Would You Do?' with John Quinones, the team sent a woman into an ice cream shop to order. The teen actress ordering ice cream is a real-life stutterer named Elena. The crew also sent three other teen actors in behind Elena to bully her. Then the cameras rolled to capture the real responses of the unknowing ice cream shop patrons.

Elena and the film crew were all pleasantly surprised by how sweet the ice cream shop customers could be. Many people admonished the bullies for their action and encouraged Elena to take her time. When the bullies got to be too much, customers stood up to them and demanded they leave, or approached the manager requesting that he eject them. One woman standing up to the bullies burst into tears while defending Elena.

Elena said that as a stutterer she's had real life situations where people were cruel, and that it made her feel good to see people coming to her rescue.

Imagine if everyone stood up to bullies like this in the real world every day.
