Teenager Decides To Test His Luck, Wins Big

Frederick Walker is a 19-year-old central Florida man who heard about the billion dollar Powerball jackpot and decided to play for the first time.

Lottery officials say that there was a completed play slip at the Sav-A-Ton in Lake Mary, where Walker purchased his ticket. Walker used the numbers of the unpurchased ticket and added an extra feature, which, led him to win $2 million.

Frederick said "When I heard about the billion dollar Powerball jackpot, I decided to try my luck and buy a ticket. How lucky that the first time I played, I won."

A Tennessee couple purchased one of the three tickets to split the world-record $1.6 billion Powerball jackpot. John and Lisa Robinson say they don't plan to quit their jobs or buy a new house. The other winning tickets were sold in Florida and California, but no one has produced them yet.

Wednesday night's drawing also produced 11 $1 million winners in Florida. Since joining the game in 2009, lottery officials say Florida has produced more Powerball winners than any other state.
