Teen Rejected Man's Advances, Stunned When He Hits Her Over The Head With A Bottle

A Swedish teenager was out at a nightclub with friends having a good time when a strange man groped her. The teen turned away from the man and told him to stop.

The man punched her, and when she tried to leave he hit her over the head with a bottle. Police are looking for the suspect.

Sophie Johansson says that she was at Babel, a nightclub in Malmö, when the assault took place. It was Saturday night, and the young woman was on the dance floor with friends when an unknown man tugged her bag.

She turned around and said the man began groping her between her legs and on her buttocks. Johansson promptly told the man to stop, and when he wasn't listening she hit him. He then punched her in the face.

Johansson and her friends didn't want the situation to escalate, so they opted to just leave the club. When she turned her back on the man and began walking out, the man hit her over the head with a bottle. She immediately felt all wet, and soon realized that it was her own blood.

“I thought it was [liquid] from the bottle [on my face], but then my friend said it was running blood,” she said to a local paper. “I ended up in shock.”

Photos of the woman with blood running down her face and soaking into her top are shocking, indeed. Johansson was brought to the hospital and was treated for her injuries, which required stitches.

The suspect got away, but Johansson described him to police as being about 25 years old, 5'7" tall and with dark hair.

Police haven't opened an investigation yet because the details of what happened are unclear, but they are searching for the suspect in hopes of talking to him. Some witnesses reported seeing the man drive away on a moped after the altercation.

Police are asking anyone else with any information about the man to contact authorities.

"We hope that someone has seen something, seen the incident. If so, we will open up the investigation again," said a spokesperson for the police.

The club is also looking for the suspect. On Babel's Facebook page, a post read, "One of our guests was beaten by an unknown man. We now need witnesses to the event in order to move forward on this matter... We have a [zero tolerance] against violence, threats and all forms of abuse. We and our staff work closely with the police to suppress and prosecute all crimes.”

A spokesperson for the club said that employees are fully cooperating with authorities. They have turned over all information that they have that could lead to identifying the suspect.

Johannson is trying to look on the bright side after the brutal attack. She says that the attack was terrifiying, but all in all, it could have been worse. She’s just glad that she and her friends were able to walk away from the violent man without getting more seriously injured.

"I am happy and grateful that it did not end worse. But I'm a little upset about not finding the man,” she said.
