Teen Posts Sweetly Sad Picture Of His Father Sitting In Hallway

A teen is having a difficult time as her mother battles thyroid cancer. One consolation to her is that her father is such a supportive and loving man. She caught her father doing something very sweet for her mother and had to share it on social media.

Mackenna Newman is going through a hard time right now. The 17-year-old is watching her mother battle thyroid cancer. Marci Newman is currently going through a round of radiation therapy, which means she's been quarantined from the rest of the family. She has to stay in her room, and no one can come near her.

It isn’t that easy to keep her husband away, though. Jon Newman isn't letting Marci go through it alone, though. He set up his desk and chair right in front of Marci's door. He keeps the door ajar so he can talk to her and help reassure her through the grueling treatment.

According to Marci, Jon has been there for her all the way. She told BuzzFeed that he'd been to "…every doctor's appointment, every blood test, every surgery, every radiation” she said, “And, as you can see, if he can't be by my side he is as close as he can get!”

Mackenna is touched by her parents. She posted a photo of her father at his makeshift desk online. "My mom has to stay in her room in isolation for her cancer radiation so my dad set up a desk at her door to keep her company and I'm crying," she wrote.

When BuzzFeed asked why she posted the photo, she responded, “I just thought it was sweet because they are so in love."

Many people agreed and were touched by the sweet gesture, especially those who have gone through it before.

"I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2014 and I spent 7 days in isolation after radiation. It was a very emotionally challenging experience! This lady is blessed to have such wonderful support," commented one person.
