Teen Makes Unexpected Find Behind Toys 'R' Us (PHOTOS)

Toys “R” Us is known for bringing joy to kids' hearts. However, it was shock that was struck in the hearts of two Ohio teens who came across human skeletal remains behind a local Toys “R” Us in Parma.

Mariah Welling-Tessmer, 16, told Cleveland.com that she and her friend, Chris "CJ" Pogozelski, 17, regularly walk through this area to watch for cardinals.

"We saw this mattress and a whole bunch of teddy bears," Welling-Tessmer said.

After walking a bit further they came across some bones.

"We saw the bones and I was like, 'That's a femur!' and then walking forward more, we saw the skull," Pogozelski told Cleveland.com.

At first, he thought they were fake, but realized that they were real after picking one up. The pair said they found the remains near two mattresses and piles of clothing they hadn’t seen on previous trips.

The remains were badly decomposed and found about 200 yards behind the shopping center in some tall grass. The body was in such bad condition that investigators could not initially identify the remains or reveal information, including race, gender or age.

Police said they are looking into local missing persons cases and will broaden their search if necessary.
