Sylvester Stallone Considers Filing Suit Against Woman That Accused Him Of Sexual Misconduct

The tidal wave of sexual assault allegations that have rocked the entertainment industry shows no signs of subsiding anytime soon, and the list is getting longer by the week. The allegations that were leveled against disgraced mogul Harvey Weinstein opened the floodgates, and a number of men in positions of power have been accused of unseemly behavior in the aftermath. In many cases, the accusations have stemmed from incidents that took place way past the statute of limitations for sexual crimes, and that throws a gigantic wrench into things.

Absent a complete investigation, the accusations come down to a matter of ‘he said, she said.’ The accusers certainly deserve to be heard, and it’s encouraging to see that women feel more empowered to speak out on things that aren’t right. That said, it becomes awfully tough to sort through the actual facts when we’re talking about something that’s alleged to have occurred decades ago. That situation is swirling around Hollywood megastar Sylvester Stallone, as a woman has accused him of raping her back in 1990.

Stallone has vehemently denied the allegations, and he’s considering taking things a step further. As the Independent Journal Review shares, Stallone is considering filing charges against the woman for making false allegations against him. Reports are swirling that the woman has filed a report with police to substantiate her claims, but it’s unclear if that will go anywhere. Since the alleged incident happened 27 years ago, the statute has obviously subsided by now.

According to TMZ, Stallone’s attorney, Marty Singer, says he was informed by an unidentified media outlet that the woman had come to them with a story saying that Stallone had sexually assaulted her. The outlet declined to publish the story due to a lack of corroborating evidence, as well as the fact that the woman had not filed any kind of report with the police. The woman has reportedly gone to the police since that point, but there are rumblings that she only took that step to get her story out to the press.

If it turns out the woman filed a report with police, Singer indicates that he’s ready to file a complaint in a bid to have the woman investigated for making false claims. We’ll have to wait and see how this plays out, but this situation is clearly a mess. Due to the conflicting information, it’s at the point that you don’t know who to believe. Is the woman making false claims due to an ulterior motive? Is another Hollywood hotshot flexing his muscle in a bid to make an accuser go away?

We have no idea on the answer to either of those questions, so we’ll have to wait and see if this winds up in a court of law someday. This accusation against Stallone come on the heels of another accusation from a woman that claims he raped her back in 1986 when she was just 16-years-old. Stallone has also denied those allegations. It’s quite clear that we haven’t heard the last of allegations from the past, and we can only imagine there’s a whole lot of nervous folks in the entertainment industry right about now as a result.
