Suspicious Package Sent To Rep. Maxine Waters' Office Reads 'Anne Thrax'

An otherwise ordinary day at the Los Angeles, California offices of Representative Maxine Waters turned into a nightmare after a suspicious package was sent addressed to 'Anne Thrax'. Parts of the building were evacuated and authorities rushed to the scene to investigate, but it turns out that there was no dangerous substance in the package, or anywhere in the building. An investigation has been launched.

Rep. Waters has garnered some negative attention recently after she ramped up her already intense criticism of President Donald Trump. The Democratic congresswoman has been calling for Trump's impeachment since before his inauguration. She has called for her party and supporters to resist the president at every turn.

Recently, after it came out that some Trump aides and staffers have been harassed in restaurants or on outings with their family, Waters encouraged her supporters to do even more. She called for people to 'absolutely harass' President Trump's cabinet members on the streets.

"The American people have put up with this president long enough. What more do we need to see? What more lies do we need to hear?" Waters said at a Los Angeles rally.

"If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them!"

Waters later said in an interview on MSNBC, "...for these members of his Cabinet who remain and try to defend him, they're not going to be able to go to a restaurant, to be able to stop at a gas station, to be able to shop at a department store. The people are going to turn on them, they're going to protest, they're going to absolutely harass them until they tell the president: 'No, I can't hang with you.'"

Many saw Waters' comments as promoting violence towards the GOP. The idea that the congresswoman meant for her supporters to get physical was even touted by the president himself.

"Congresswoman Maxine Waters, an extraordinarily low IQ person, has become, together with Nancy Pelosi, the Face of the Democrat Party. She has just called for harm to supporters, of which there are many, of the Make America Great Again movement. Be careful what you wish for Max!" Trump tweeted.

According to Fox News, Waters incited 'mob violence', and conservatives are calling for the congresswoman to be held responsible from any attacks that may ensue. An ethics complaint was filed against her by the conservative website Judicial Watch, calling for an investigation into whether she violated any rules.

"I believe in peaceful, very peaceful, protest," Waters responded in a press conference. "I have not called for the harm of anybody."

It has not stopped some Trump supporters from expressing their anger towards Waters, and so the Anne Thrax stunt is being taken very seriously by authorities. The LAPD is currently investigating the package to find where it came from.
