Starbucks Reveals Their Holiday Cup Design - Takes A Shot At Trump And His Supporters

Don’t look now, but the holiday season is right around the corner. That means it’s time for retailers to do their best to find ways to get us to part with the almighty dollar. Some of their ways will gain some serious traction, while others will fall miserably flat.

As Breitbart explains, reaction to a new offering from coffee giant Starbucks has been decidedly mixed. The chain has debuted a festive looking cup that doesn’t seem to be all that festive.

“The green cup and the design represent the connections Starbucks has as a community with its partners (employees) and customers. During a divisive time in our county, Starbucks wanted to create a symbol of unity as a reminder of our shared values, and the need to be good to each other,” said Starbucks CEO and Chairman Howard Schultz.

While the cup is a jolly shade of green, there’s nothing resembling good tidings on the cup. Instead, it’s an artistic offering from commissioned artist Shogo Ota. Reaction has been mixed to say the least, and Republican nominee Donald Trump took some time from his busy schedule to weigh in.

“Maybe we should boycott Starbucks. I don’t know. Seriously, I don’t care,” he shared at one campaign event.
