Special Needs Girl Left In Tears After Asking The Popular Boy To Prom

A touching story has emerged about a special needs student in Anderson, IN, who was recently able to have the prom night of her dreams. According to WTHR, she was even escorted to her special night by the school’s homecoming prince, who graciously accepted her invitation.

Destiny McLemore is in her junior year at Anderson High School, and the special needs student was really looking forward to her big night. She was fully decked out in her attire of choice, which included a tiara, a coral dress and glittering shoes.

"You look beautiful, Destiny," her mom Angi told her.

To make her night even more special, Destiny had mustered the courage to ask a boy she had her eye on to accompany her. Grant Kelley, a senior at the school, graciously accepted her invitation. He’s apparently a pretty big deal at the school, and counts time as the high school mascot, show choir performer, soccer player and homecoming prince on his resume.

"He had some classmates ask him, 'Are you really going to go with her?' And his response was...I'm gonna cry. His response was 'Absolutely.' He said, 'I can't wait to have fun with her,'" Angi explained.
