South Park Season Opener Gives Its Take on Kaepernick and Black Lives Matter

The long-running Comedy Central hit South Park has never been known for being politically correct, and that point is hammered home in the trailer for this season’s opening episode. According to Right Wing News, it looks like both Colin Kaepernick and Black Lives Matter are in the show’s crosshairs.

The trailer shows the familiar cast assembled at some kind of gathering singing a song. The animated characters have their hands over their hearts while their belting out their little ditty, which is about as far from p.c. as you can possibly get. The song goes through a few different topics in quick succession, and it manages to paint a pretty bright picture of the complexity of a number of issues in a way that only the creators of South Park can.

At various points, the song goes from railing against cops to posing the question of how can we call them when we need help if all we do is say how evil they are, and the characters have their hands over their heart the whole time in a clear nod to Kaepernick, whose name gets creatively placed in the lyrics as well.

This little gem is definitely worth checking out and sharing, and it sounds like the season opener will be must see television.
