Son Shoots Mother in Back During Black Friday Sales

A mother and her 15-year-old son were sitting in their van in a Target parking lot during Black Friday sales.

The son then removed a gun from under the seat and pulled the trigger--it shot her in the back. Although, police in Evansville, Indianapolis, have not filed any charges because the teenager believed the gun's safety was on.

The mother was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. In addition, the shooting was categorized as accidental.

According to the National Retail Federation, over 151 million people shopped in stores or online over the weekend. That compares with 133.7million last year. Yet, spending per person was $299.60 per person, lower than the $381 figure from 2014.

Cyber Monday sales results have not yet been released.
