Son and Girlfriend Allegedly Execute Fatal Revenge Plot Against His Parents
Jennifer Valiante, 31, of Westport, Connecticut, made her first court appearance on Monday after remains of her boyfriend Kyle Nevin's parents, were found in the yard of a vacant home four days ago. It's been almost two months since Jeanette and Jeffrey vanished.
A Bridgeport Superior Court judge held Valiante on a $2 million bail and continued the case to November 24. Police say Valiante conspired with Navin to kill his parents as they considered cutting him out of their will, but her lawyer insists she was not part of the plot and even led the search for them when they were reported missing.
After the 15-minute hearing, her lawyer Elliot Warren said, "She was looking for Kyle's parents as soon as she realized they were missing and trying to help find them. In order to be guilty of a conspiracy you need to have knowledge of what is going to occur.” Navin's arraignment hasn't been scheduled. Although, he already is detained on a federal weapon charge.
In the build-up to the death of his parents, Navin reportedly wrote a chilling text message to Valiante saying he had the “perfect plan” to get “$ for life.” Just weeks after sending the messages, his parents went missing on August 4. Their bodies were found on Thursday in the yard of the vacant home. Navin also wrote “Wipe out the infection and get $ for life. It's perfect plan.”
Navin allegedly shot his mother at least once in the chest while she sat in her son's blue truck. He also supposedly gunned down his father, Jeffrey Navin, possibly in the basement of his Bridgeport home that his parents had helped him purchase.
Jeanette Navin once told a friend that her relationship with her son was 'very tempestuous' and that she believed he was taking drugs. The parents had bought a home for their son, but he wasn't able to keep up with the mortgage and taxes.
Blood was found along with a bullet hole on the front passenger seat of Navin's truck which tested positive for Jeanette Navin's blood. Furthermore, police allegedly found blood stains that tested positive for both his blood and his father's blood in the basement of Kyle Navin's Bridgeport home.
In addition, they found prescription pills and heroin in the home. Navin was charged with two counts of murder and murder with special circumstances.
