The Shoe Ends Up On The Other Foot For Teen Rape Vigilante

Survivors of sexual abuse never escape what happened to them. They can move on, rehabilitate themselves and live normal healthy lives with the proper treatment and care. But the emotional scars last forever. They never forget how the pain felt, the room smelled or who that person was. Many times the sexual predators are put away in prison. Sometimes they are unidentified and people have to move on and try to get closure despite that. But in some horrible cases, the rapist is taken to court and set free.

One fifteen-year-old girl in the United Kingdom was not ready to let her attacker go free. The rapist was convicted and found guilty of the crime. But for some reason he was given an extremely soft sentence. He was ordered to do community service without any jail time. After seeing her attacker go free, the girl had to relive all the horrible things that happened to her. She knew that would probably do that again to another unsuspecting victim.

The fifteen-year-old could not allow that to happen to anyone else. She went to his house one night, knife in hand. As soon as he opened the door, she stabbed him multiple times, trying to slash the main artery. She was unsuccessful in killing the man but was able to critically injure him.

She was taken back to court to face again-- to face her own charges this time. However, instead of blaming the victim, the judge, Jonathan Durham Hall QC, gave her an order for two-year rehabilitation. He even said that he could financially help her with any fines incurred. He told her, "If anyone tries to force you, I will pay it myself. It would be a disgrace to send a survivor like you to prison." The world needs more judges like Hall that know the difference between jail time and rehabilitation. Not everyone who commits a crime needs to put in jail.
