17-Year-Old With Seven Children Asks For Donations To Stop Having Kids

She was only 14-years-old when Argentine teenager Pamela Villarruel had her first child. That birth was just the beginning. Over the next 24 months, Villarruel got pregnant back to back and gave birth to six more children.

At the ripe old age of 17, she already has seven children.

Pamela lives with her parents in Leones in Cordoba Province, in the north of Argentina. Although she only has only been pregnant three times, she has given birth to seven children.

The first child was a boy born in 2005. The other six girls were two sets of triplets from two different pregnancies.

Now, because she was denied by the government of Argentina, Pamela is asking the public to donate money so she can have an operation to prevent her from having children again.

Pamela points out that getting by in her parents’ living room is difficult. Her mother supports them all and works 60 hours a week as a house cleaner.

Pamela also notes that the father of her first son abandoned them. The father of the first set of triplets was violent and often beat Pamela.

The father of the second set of triplets is a mystery. Pamela refuses to admit who it is, or if she even knows the paternity of the girls.

Given that Pamela’s mother Magdalena is taking care of the entire family, she has asked Pamela have her fallopian tubes tied so she can’t have any more kids. She does not use birth control for religious reasons, so she has no other way to protect herself from an unwanted pregnancy.

Furthermore, with seven children, more kids could push them over the financial edge.

Of note, local media sources report that Magdalena’s request for sterilization was denied by the government of Argentina. The agency said that the birth control procedure cannot be performed on a minor even if she’s already had seven kids.

After the government refused her request, Villarruel and her family began a public campaign for donations so she could afford the procedure.
