Shaq Goes Off On Weird Tangent, Hints At His Belief That The World Is Flat

Everything we have learned about the Earth’s shape is wrong. That’s a theory that’s been gaining a little traction of late, and former NBA star Shaquille O’Neal just sent the discussion into overdrive. As the Daily Mail shares, O’Neal recently shared that he thinks the Earth is flat, and it sounds like he thinks the whole round Earth thing is just a big ball of conspiracy.

O’Neal was being questioned about some thoughts recently shared by current NBA star Kyrie Irving, who clearly believes that the Earth is flat. Irving seems to believe that the shape of the Earth as we know it is just one big lie, but it’s unclear exactly why there would be such a rampant conspiracy to keep that under wraps. Sounds like Shaq is on board as well.

“Listen, there are three ways to manipulate the mind - what you read, what you see and what you hear. In school, first thing they teach us is, "Oh, Columbus discovered America"... Columbus didn’t discover America. So, listen, I drive from coast to coast, and this s*** is flat to me,” O’Neal said.

Ok then. So O’Neal is in the flat-earth camp - unless this was all in jest. That’s unclear at the moment, as he quickly rifled off some facts to enhance his argument.

“I drive from Florida to California all the time, and it’s flat to me. I do not go up and down at a 360-degree angle, and all that stuff about gravity, have you looked outside Atlanta lately and seen all these buildings? You mean to tell me that China is under us? China is under us? It’s not. The world is flat,” he continued.

It’ll be interesting to see if this theory gains more traction in the coming days, as well as if Shaq will educate us further on the topic of gravity that he alluded to.
