Serious Online Shopper In Mississippi Leaves Snacks And Water For Hardworking Delivery Drivers

Sometimes we all get so busy with everything we have going on in our lives during the holiday season that we take for granted all of the hard-working people that make our modern consumer lifestyle possible.

No matter how busy we are, we always need to remember that everyone employed in the service industry is working extra hard and extra long during the holidays. They deserve to be acknowledged on a personal level as well as rewarded financially for all the extra hours they put in from the Black Friday after Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day.

Delivery drivers in particular work extremely hard over the holiday season delivering millions of gifts to stores, homes and offices all across the country. Moreover, although most people do regularly tip service personnel such as servers and bartenders in restaurants, valets, drivers, barbers, gardeners and garbage men, delivery drivers rarely if ever receive tips.

In fact, more often than not, delivery drivers just get dirty looks or complaints about the fact the package is overdue!

Making other people happy is not that hard if you take the time to put yourself in someone else’s shoes. As this viral video shows, given that UPS workers spend most of their workday during the holidays delivering other people’s Christmas gifts, this exhausted UPS delivery man was overjoyed that someone was thoughtful enough to leave a delicious and refreshing gift for him on their front porch.

The Christmas gift for delivery drivers was courtesy of Tiffany Judd (no relation to the famous singing/acting Judds), a sweetheart and mom of two from Mississippi.

Judd says she figured that since she does pretty much all of her Christmas shopping online these days, and given the stress and long hours involved in working in the delivery industry during the holiday season, she wanted to give something back to all the hard working delivery folks. She says she owed them since they came by her house almost every day.

The kind-hearted mother began putting a stash of tasty packaged snacks and water bottles under a small Christmas tree on her porch. That way, she figured that any delivery workers who came by could enjoy a refreshing drink and a snack to help keep their energy levels up.

Her security camera caught the reaction of several of the delivery drivers who dropped by over a week or so. But the enthused reaction of one hunky UPS driver was both sweet and memorable.

When he saw the goodies, you could hear the excited UPS delivery driver emit a yelp of excitement, pick up two or three snacks and a bottle of water, and wave enthusiastically while mouthing “thank you” to the camera on the porch.

Judd’s video has gone viral, and it’s not surprising really, given the clip embodies the essence of what the holiday spirit really means. “This time of year it’s nice to give back to others and it just made me feel good that he was excited about that,” Judd commented in an interview with national media.
