Sentinels Watch Tomb of the Unknowns Even in Blizzard

Despite the freezing and blistery winter storm Jonas, 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment Tomb Sentinels still guarded the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington National Cemetery.

The tomb is the final resting place for unknown soldiers from WWI, WWII and the Korean War. It has been guarded 24 hours a day, seven days a week since April 6, 1948.

An image showing a Sentinel keeping watch was posted online with the caption, "Our first shot from the Tomb during Jonas! #thestormawakens #stormjonas #blizzard2016 #snowdayomb."

An additional tweet read, "As night falls on Washington's record breaking snowfall the Sentinels maintain their vigil. #Blizzard2016."
