Restaurant Honors Fallen Soldier And His Sister

A Buffalo Wild Wings employee was extremely moved by what the sister of a U.S. soldier killed in Iraq did when she came into the restaurant.

Inquisitr reported that server Brian Avey wrote on his Facebook page: “A military woman came into my work today for lunch. She ordered a Blue Moon and a Corona. I told her she could only do one beer at a time. She said the Corona was for her brother who died in Iraq and (she would not) be drinking it. It just sat next her at a empty seat (throughout) her entire lunch. When I brought her (the) bill, I told her Buffalo Wild Wings will be buying that beer.”

The grieving sister left a note at her table that read: “Thank you. An act of kindness goes a long way. It means a lot to me. Have a great rest of your day. – A Grateful Soldier.”

Avey wrote: “After she left, I didn’t have the heart to dump the beer out and throw it away, so I put it on top of the cooler next the American flag. When I showed my boss, his response was amazing. He said, ‘That’s fine, just do me a favor, put a fresh lime in it every morning.’” The manager told KIRO 7: “I just can’t throw this beer away.”

Avey’s Facebook post has been shared almost 40,000 times and liked more than 90,000 times, according to Inquisitr. The Corona still sits next to the flag in the restaurant, which reportedly has received calls of support from people in many countries.
