Restaurant Employees Do Something Disgusting To Cop’s Food - Big Mistake
One Florida police department got an internal warning that's enough to make anyone's stomach turn. The warning told police to patronize a local eatery at their own risk; employees at the establishment might be spitting in their food. Apparently, the owner tipped off someone in a strikingly unapologetic way.
Police Chief Patrick Dooley of the Jacksonville Police Department sent the email about a local burger joint known as Cruisers Grill. The disturbing message read, “It has come to my attention that the owner of Cruisers has given indications that his employees in the past or will in the future spit saliva in the food of law enforcement.”
Dooley continued, “While I will not issue an order prohibiting patronization of Cruisers, please use caution for health and safety reasons if you choose to eat at this establishment. I am providing you this information so that you may make informed personal decisions.”
The chief added that if Cruisers Grill owner or employees ever called for help, "my expectation is, as always, that you provide the highest level of professional customer service.”
An officer brought the issue to the attention of Chief Dooley after he said owner Bobby Handmaker told him, “I have been made aware for quite some time now that some of my employees have been spitting in officers’ food and now I know why, because you are all bullies.”
It's a rumor, said Handmaker to Action News Jax. He insists there have been no incidents of food tampering. “For over 20 years, Cruisers Grill has supported our police officers and appreciates the opportunity to serve them and their families,” he wrote in a statement. "We are deeply disappointed and saddened to hear that false rumors regarding Cruisers Grill are being circulated... There is no factual basis to any claims that Cruisers Grill does not support law enforcement.”
It’s unlikely that many officers will take the risk.
