Reporters Can’t Believe What President Trump Did Before His First Air Force One Flight

It seems people, including the press, either love or hate President Trump. Those who border on the side of hate apparently can't find enough about the new president to criticize. Their latest complaint is that the president didn't wave good-bye as he boarded Air Force One for the first time.

President Donald Trump took his first flight on Air Force One since he took his oath of office last week. He boarded at Joint Base Andrews, bound for the 2017 GOP retreat in Philadelphia. Though the press was there to capture the moment for posterity, the president wasn't interested.

There's no love lost between the president and journalists, which becomes more clear every day. So, it probably shouldn't have come as a huge surprise that the president didn't stop, turn and wave for the press — a time-honored tradition that allows photographers to get a good shot of the moment.

When the president arrived at his destination, he merely gave a quick wave and thumbs up.

Mark Kneller, a reporter for the Washington Times, was one of the first to complain. "Pres Trump boards Air Force One, but doesn't turn around to wave - as presidents have done for decades," he tweeted, along with a picture of President Trump's back.

CNN host John Berman watching the live feed complained, “He didn’t stop and wave. You know, I think you see with a lot of presidents they walk up the stairs, they turn around and wave and then get on. This is his first time. I bet we see that in future trips.”

For some, no matter what President Trump does, it will be wrong. They’ve already decided that.
