Protesters Convened Outside The GOP Debate, Black Lives Matter Member Burned The American Flag

Hundreds of Black Lives Matter protesters stood outside the GOP presidential debate in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to make their concerns known.

One protester even burned the American flag saying he was demonstrating against the U.S. Justice Department's decision not to pursue federal criminal civil rights charges against former Milwaukee police officer, Christopher Manney, who shot disabled black man Dontre Hamilton 14 times. Although, flag burning is a means of legal protest, police officers soon realized the flames could hurt other protesters so they put it out.

They also ceremoniously folded the flag before putting it away in case it is needed for evidence. In addition, some protesters turned against the man saying it was an inappropriate action given it was the eve before Veteran's Day. One protester told the man he was a veteran and he can't do that, but he refused to put out the flames until officers came over to do so.

Another set of men were seen trampling on the flag with their fists in the air while raising the black liberation flag. The Black Lives Matter group was joined by protesters of other groups who are pushing for immigration reform and raising the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour.

Wisconsin state senator Van Wanggaard was highly disappointed saying "On the eve of Veteran’s Day and the 240th anniversary of the Marine Corps, at a time when Milwaukee and Wisconsin should be celebrating our country for being at the epicenter of our democratic process, protesters chose to disrespect the very symbol of that democracy."

The crowd grew to over 1,000 people before it turned into a march that made its way towards the arena where the GOP debate was being held. One man dressed as Captain America and praised Trump while persuading protesters to take selfies with him.
