President Obama Just Sent Donald Trump A Very Serious Warning

President Barack Obama delivered a speech on national security, which will be his last before he leaves office in January. His message in Tampa, Florida included a last-ditch effort to pitch his point of view to President Elect Donald Trump.

President Obama has been gracious and optimistic after President Elect Donald Trump won the White House in November, but the current commander-in-chief has not given up on taking sides. Over the last eight years, as the country grew more and more divided, he’s frequently abandoned any attempt at neutrality and openly criticized Republicans for opposing the liberal agenda he supports. With Republicans taking over Washington, President Obama has been very concerned about preserving his legacy and his vision for America. In the MacDill Air Force Base speech this week he continues to urge the incoming president to rethink some of his proposed policies.

“Adhering to the rule of law is not a weakness,” the president said, alluding to Trump's promise to take a tougher position on national security. “In the long term, it is our greatest strength.”

Many conservatives have criticized the president for being overly-diplomatic when matters called for action. They have suggested the Obama administration's soft policies are the reason for the rise of terrorist groups in the Middle East.

The president stood his ground and stuck to his principles, however, in his last pitch. “If we act like this is a war between the United States and Islam, we’re not just going to lose more Americans to terrorist attacks,” Obama said. “But we’ll also lose sight of the very principles we claim to defend.”
