Police Were Dispatched To Hotel; They Were Sicked By What They Found

Police were highly concerned after 911 dispatchers informed them of a call from a woman residing at the Parkway Inn in Middletown, Ohio, who vaguely stating that there was a young boy severely injured and in danger of death. While they could obtain little information on the phone, police quickly discovered the horrific truth when they went to investigate the motel room.

When dispatchers received a frantic call from Rachel Bostian, stating that a 5-year-old boy had stopped breathing, they immediately rushed police and paramedics to the scene.

However, nothing could have prepared them for what they discovered. When police arrived at the motel, 26-year-old Ms. Theresa Hawkins-Stephens, 29-year-old Ms. Rachel Bostian, and 56-year-old Ramona Bostian were found in the room with Ms. Hawkins-Stephens’ two sons, 5-year-old Alexander Stephens, and 6-year-old Damyan Stephens. Police discovered the two children wrapped in bed sheets with signs of severe beating and torture.

Upon discovering the two children, police suddenly realized what had occurred in the hotel room. Despite the original claim that a group of teenagers had attacked the young children, it was later revealed that Ms. Hawkins-Stephens youngest son had taken some food without permission. All three women decided that the two children had to be disciplined for the ‘crime,' beating them repeatedly for several hours with sticks, belts, their hands, and other unknown objects.

Police, who discovered Alexander with life-threatening injuries, immediately began to administer CPR. While the 5-year-old managed to make it to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Avondale, he succumbed to his injuries and died a few days later.

The coroner revealed that the most likely cause of death was “blunt force trauma to the head, torso, and extremities with a skull fracture and subdural hemorrhage.” The 6-year-old child also suffered serious injuries, however, is believed to be recovering well.

Officers on the scene have expressed their shock and disgust at the crime scene, with Assistant Middletown Police Chief, Mark Hoffman, revealing the disturbing implications this case had on the officers: “It was quite frankly, a horrific beating. We had 20-year officers on the scene and they said it was the worst they had seen in their careers’.”

Ms. Hawkins-Stephens has pleaded guilty to the murder of her youngest son, as well as two counts of child endangering; she is expected to receive the maximum sentence for her crimes.

As for her two accomplices’, Ms. Rachel Bostian faces two counts of endangering children as well as murder for her part in the abuse. She also faces life in prison. Ms. Bostian’s mother, Ramona, pleaded guilty to the obstruction of justice and is facing at least 36 months in prison.

The monstrous act has shocked the nation, leaving judges and authorities sickened. Judge Greg Stephens, who handed down the maximum sentence of 18 years to Ms. Hawkins-Stephens, condemned the mother, stating “you had two little boys, probably the only two human beings on the planet who loved you unconditionally. They trusted you to protect them, to look over them. You violated the greatest human trust that can be placed-the relationship between a young child and a parent.”
