Police Shoot Up Wrong Address on Domestic Violence Call

A Florida man, who asked not to be identified, claims that police opened fire on his family after officers responded to a domestic violence call at the wrong address.

The man was woken at 1 a.m. on Saturday to pounding on the front door of his Ocoee home. He asked who was knocking on his door, but received no response. He feared it was a potential robbery so, he retrieved his gun. Then a bright light shined through the window where he heard someone shout, "gun." Soon, bullets pummelled through his home's windows and walls.

He ducked to the floor before two bullets hit him in the head. His family also laid on the floor, waiting for the rapid gunfire to end.

Police then came in, handcuffed everyone and sat them on the curb. They weren't allowed to go back inside for another 10 hours, while police investigated the shooting. Sgt. Bob Rivera, of Ocoee police said, “Upon arrival, a person was confronted and shots were fired."

Police identified the officers as Carlos Anglero and Stephanie Roberts, who were both described as experienced officers. The family was unharmed, but their walls, windows and furniture were destroyed.
The shooting is still under investigation.

The home's front door was covered up with a sign that reads, "Door damaged by Ocoee Police."
