Police Officers Receive Incredible Letter After Pulling This Woman Over (Photos)

In the most simplistic form, laws exist to prevent members of society from crossing the line and engaging in actions or behaviors that may harm others. Those that run afoul of the law have a price to pay, and in a perfect world, that run in with the law will spur the offender to be more mindful of their actions. That was the case for this young lady that received a DUI, and she’s forever thankful to the officers that pulled her over.

As AWM shares, she wrote a touching letter to members of the Toms River Police Department just to say thanks.

“I wanna thank you from the bottom of my heart. If it wasn’t for you, my mom may have lost a daughter or worse I could have taken someone’s life,” she wrote.

The woman goes onto explain that she used that evening as a turning point in her life.

“I don’t remember much from that night. I thank God every day that I’m alive and thank God you pulled me over,” she continued.

The officers were incredibly moved by the letter they received, and they shared it on the department’s social media account.

“Being police officers often puts us on a collision course with people who are at a very difficult or low point in their lives. Contrary to what some people in society believe; we do not enjoy causing negative effects on people’s lives by arresting them or issuing them traffic summonses. We try and make a difference every day when we leave our families at home to ride out into this big, bad, and beautiful world,” the department wrote in part.

At least in this case, they know that they truly changed someone’s life while insuring the roads remain safe for all of us.

“Every day we see good and evil cohabitating side by side with only a thin line dividing the boundaries. We humbly and readily stand guard on that line to protect our neighbors.
Here is a note that was included in a Christmas card we got this year. However infrequent a letter like this arrives; we are reminded of why we do what we do,” the post continued.
