Police Investigate Rumors Of Young Girl Harem, Speechless Upon Entering His Home

A man who was in the process of building a sick cult in his Pennsylvania home has been arrested and charged with sexual assault. He was living with a dozen children, some of whom were given to him by their parents as 'gifts'. He claimed to be married to some of the teens, and fathered two children with one girl.

Neighbors in Buck County were baffled by the things going on in the home of Lee Kaplan. The 51-year-old appeared to have, from the looks of it, about four female children living with him that they knew not to be his children. The girls would rarely come out, but when they did it was to do chores. The girls were all dressed in similar blue dresses and, according to witnesses, always looked very sad. When neighbors tried to say hello to them, Kaplan would call them in and refuse to let them talk to anyone.

Nervous neighbors finally reported Kaplan to Child Protective Services. When authorities arrived, they found there were 12 children living in the home altogether, ages six months through 18. Kaplan admitted to sexually abusing the 18-year-old and fathering two children with her. Several of the older girls he said were his wives.

The oldest girl and a couple of her sisters living with Kaplan were 'gifted' to him by her parents. The parents, formerly Amish, sought help from Kaplan when they left their religion and were struggling to get on their feet. Kaplan helped them out several times financially, and suggested they give him his daughters. Coming from an extreme religion, the parents thought this was fair.

Aside from the oldest girl, her sisters and the two children she gave birth to while being abused by Kaplan, it’s unclear where the other children are from. Investigators are trying to track down their families.

Kaplan has been charged with statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, and aggravated indecent assault.
